Linda Weavers, weavers.1@osu.edu, I am an associate professor and the John C. Geupel Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science. I am originally from Minnesota and received my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota. I enjoyed my classes in environmental engineering so I went to graduated school and earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Science from Caltech. I like my job as a professor because I am always learning how and why the environment is changing and explaining it to students. It is very exciting to me to explore something that no one has investigated before and figure out what is happening and why. I was recently awarded a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers by President Bush at the White House for my research and mentoring of women. Megan Moses, moses.35@osu.edu, I am the Program and Outreach Director for the Environmental and Molecular Science Institute (EMSI) at The Ohio State University. This job has been very enjoyable because it enables me to communicate with and teach people about science. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and focused my research in Science Education under the tutelage of Dr. Jerry Sarquis. Miami University offered me the opportunity to join there graduate business program and work as a graduate assistant for the Center for Sustainable Systems Studies. I earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) focusing in Marketing and Management. Since obtaining my MBA, I have earned a degree in Accounting from Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio.

Glenda La Rue, La-rue.10@osu.edu, I am the Director of the Women in Engineering Program at The Ohio State University. I run programs to encourage young women from elementary through high school to pursue enginering as a career. Once these young women are here at OSU, I offer special programs, networking opportunities and scholarships to help them succeed in engineering. I grew up in Virginia and attended Virginia Tech, where I received a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in hydrosystems. I have 10+ years of experience working as a civil engineer, where my primary job was to help property owners solve their flooding problems. I have been with OSU for just under a year and love my job because it allows me to share my enthusiasm about the field of engineering. | Sarah Bardwell, bardwell.8@osu.edu, I am a sophomore at The Ohio State University working to earn a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. I am very interested in detail and design and hope to use my degree to work to create things people use every day such as car seats, strollers, household products and possibly prosthetic limbs. I graduated from Bexley High School in 2003, and hope to graduate from Ohio State in 2008. I chose to attend OSU because it is located close to my home in Bexley, and because it has one of the top engineering programs in the country. |
Dawn Deojay, deojay.1@osu.edu, I am a graduate student at the
Ohio State University working towards a Masters of Science degree
in the Environmental Science Graduate Program. My area of study
involves the degradation of aquatic chemical pollutants through the use of
ultrasonics. I choose Ohio State for its reputation in the
environmental academics. My planned graduation date is
December 2006. |
| Ashley Olwin, olwin.1@osu.edu, I am a senior in Industrial & Systems Engineering at the Ohio State University. I would like to focus on ergonomics, production systems, and product design, with a minor in business. I am originally from Payne, Ohio and went to Wayne Trace Jr/Sr High School. I plan to graduate in June of 07. |
Ellen Regennitter, regennitter.2@osu.edu, As a senior studying Civil Engineering at The Ohio State University, I am
specializing in structural design and planning to graduate in Spring, 2007.
I chose to attend Ohio State because of the real world experience I could
gain here as a student, and the spirit of loyalty and Buckeye Pride that is
evident in every OSU student!
